What this site covers
Quorndon Field collects and presents practical cultivation information for people growing edible fungi at home or on a small scale in Poland. The guides here focus on methods that are achievable with readily available materials and equipment — without specialist laboratory infrastructure.
The three main areas covered are oyster mushroom cultivation using bagged substrate, shiitake growing on inoculated hardwood logs, and substrate selection and preparation for indoor production. All guides are written in English and updated periodically as methods are tested and refined.
Who maintains this resource
Quorndon Field is maintained by a small team based in Warsaw with background in agricultural science and several years of practical experience growing edible fungi in Polish conditions. The site does not represent a commercial growing operation. The guides reflect methods tested at home and small-farm scale in central Poland.
Information is reviewed and updated when new practical data or published research changes the recommended approach. The date of the last update appears at the bottom of each guide.

Each guide is written to provide specific, usable information rather than general summaries. Where temperature ranges, moisture percentages, and timing figures appear, they come from documented cultivation experience or published mycological research.
